From the Farm to Space...Freeze Dried Fruit

Have you ever wondered how freeze dried fruit is processed?

This video is very informative. Amazing how technology works.  I love that with freeze dried fruit we don't lose any of the nutritional value, the color, or flavor through freeze drying. There are no added preservatives. The shelf life is also 20-25 years .

Freeze Dried Fruit

This process is used for all types of fruits and vegetables, not just strawberries.

LDS Cannery Changes

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has put out a statement in response to reports of the canneries closing. They are NOT closing, just making some changes.  Ruth Todd, the spokesman for the Church on the subject, "The church is not closing canneries and is not limiting the variety of goods available to church members," she said. The only thing being reduced over time is the number of locations at which members can purchase bulk food and can it themselves onsite."

name change

Lots of big changes at the Company. Here's the biggest one!  (This is the official letter/email from the Founders)

Thrive Live Logo

Shelf Reliance is now Thrive Life!

New Name, Same Passion

When Shelf Reliance started in 2004, it was founded upon principles of self-reliance and the invention of the Food Rotation System. But as we’ve grown over the years, our vision has expanded. Our passion has evolved into helping our consultants and customers create thriving lives around the world, and doing that means much more than fostering self reliance. It means helping others to build a Home Store and become more financially secure. It also means building and strengthening relationships with others, developing as people and leaders, and giving back to the community.
Eight years after the founding of Shelf Reliance—and with over 100 employees and thousands of consultants—we are a much different company than we had originally envisioned, but our underlying passion for improving lives has never changed. Our new name is more than just a better representation of the company we’ve become—it is the foundation of our future, and a renewed commitment to help others become self-reliant and develop every aspect of a thriving life.
Thank you for growing with us!

Xcaper Fire Mask $35.99

The Xcaper Fire Mask protects you in a fire by absorbing hazardous toxins like harmful gases and particulates as small as 3/10 of a micron as you breathe, including carbon monoxide, acrolein, hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen monoxide, water-soluble gases (anhydrites), and petrochemical fumes—nearly 100% of particulate matter common to fire smoke. The mask has a moisturizing agent (an all natural plant extract) that makes the mask feel damp to the touch and traps particulate matter. The mask is also filled with negatively charged polystyrene beads, allowing it to absorb the dangerous gases, vapors, and chemical-coated particulates within smoke to prevent suffocation, protect the throat and lungs, and provide safe, easy breathing in fire situations. This mask is effective for a minimum of 20–30 minutes, or longer depending on the fire conditions. It is one size fits all and is not reusable. As long as the mask covers the nose and mouth, it will filter effectively even if worn upside down or backwards. It is packaged in an easy open pouch with luminescent strips to help you open it in the dark. This mask is used in many fire departments, is small and convenient to store, and has a 5 year shelf life in its vacuum sealed pouch. It is a staple for any home emergency kit and great for the office and traveling as well.
