Freeze Dried vs Dehydrated

Perhaps you have heard the term Freeze Dried when someone has told you about food storage options. Here is a diagram to show the process of Freeze Dried foods. The difference is that in Dehydrated foods, there are preservatives added to the food to help it last longer, thus losing nutrient. The advantage to Freeze Dried food is that the nutritional value is still there. Our kids LOVE freeze dried peaches, and pineapple. We use the blueberries and strawberries to make syrup for pancakes
